When a player doesn't play

A DNP doesn't lose your entry. The pick voids and the lineup shrinks to the next size down, with that size's payout. Here's how every case grades.

The rule

When a player doesn't record any playing time, his pick is voided. It comes out of your entry and the rest of the lineup is graded as the next smaller lineup, at that lineup's payout. Nothing else changes: the other picks still have to hit.

What a void turns your lineup into

Your entryVoidsBecomes
6-pick Power (37.5x)15-pick Power (20x)
4-pick Power (10x)22-pick Power (3x)
5-pick Flex (10x)14-pick Flex (4/4 6x, 3/4 1.5x)
3-pick Flex (3x)12-pick Power (3x)
2-pick Power (3x)1Refunded

Two things to notice. A Flex that drops below 3 live picks plays as a Power, since Flex starts at 3. And with fewer than 2 live picks there's no lineup left, so PrizePicks refunds the entry. The payout calculator shows any lineup with any number of voids.

Pushes

A player who lands exactly on a whole-number line, say 5 receptions on a 5.0, hasn't gone over or under. It's a push, and it grades like a void: out of the entry, lineup down a size. Half-point lines (5.5) can't push.

Injuries during the game

If you took More on a player who leaves early hurt and doesn't come back, PrizePicks' Reboot policy can void his pick for eligible sports rather than grade it as a miss. The sports and the exact rules differ, so check that sport's rules in the app before you count on it.

Same-team refunds

PrizePicks also refunds an entry when voids leave every remaining pick on the same team, since a lineup has to span more than one team.

Season-long picks

Season-long props (a player's total yards or goals for the season) work the same way on a bigger clock: if the player is done for the year before the season ends, PrizePicks voids the pick and the entry pays as the smaller lineup. SZN Lab's bet tracker reads the injury report and marks those picks voided automatically, then shows the new payout. You can override it either way.

Avoiding voids in the first place

Most voids come from players who were questionable before the game. On every SZN Lab NFL, NBA and NHL prop card, the With / Without filter lists the teammates on the injury report with their status, and shows how the player's numbers change when one of them is out. See this week's NFL props or tonight's NBA props.

How PrizePicks grades DNPs, pushes and injuries can change and can differ by sport and state. PrizePicks' rules in the app are the final word.

Questions

What happens if a player doesn't play on PrizePicks?

His pick is voided and your entry pays as the next smaller lineup. A 6-pick Power at 37.5x with one DNP pays as a 5-pick Power at 20x.

Do I get a refund if a player doesn't play?

Only when too few picks are left. With fewer than 2 live picks there's no lineup, and the entry is refunded. PrizePicks also refunds an entry whose remaining picks are all on one team.

What happens if a player ties his line?

Landing exactly on a whole-number line is a push. The pick drops out like a void and the entry pays as the smaller lineup.

What if a player gets hurt during the game?

If you took More and he leaves early hurt and doesn't return, PrizePicks' Reboot policy can void the pick for eligible sports instead of grading it as a loss. Check the rules for that sport in the app.
